A Little Tradition and a Lot of Fun: Vishu at IOCOD
When it comes to celebrations, IOCOD never holds back. And this time too it was no different.
Starting from a beautiful Vishu Kani to exciting competitions, Vishu at IOCOD this year had a little bit of everything.
Some Vishu memories and payasam before the fun
We kicked off the celebrations with our team members sharing their Vishu memories. From childhood excitement over ‘kaineettam’ to waiting for fireworks and the Vishu sadhya, the conversations reminded us of one thing: how much our way of celebrating has changed over the years. But the happiness around food? Well, that remains the same. The session ended with some yummy unni appams and payasam.
Right after the sweet treat, the competition's energy started taking over the room, and the four teams gathered like rivals ready for battle.
Ramp walks, dance & full energy
The ramp walk began in style...at least for the first team. What started with stylish walks and confident poses slowly became funny commentaries and teammates hyping each other up.
Then came the dance performance. Somewhere between last-minute practices, rushed coordination, and many giggles, an energetic dance performance pulled the spirit of celebration. And honestly, the cheering was much louder than the music.
Competition Mode: On
The fun didn’t stop there. The song guessing challenge got everyone extremely competitive, with teams shouting answers before the song even started. And of course, every wrong guess came with instant roasting.
Right when we thought the games were getting easier, the tongue twister round showed up. It was hilarious to watch teams start off confidently and then completely stumble halfway through.
Wrapped the day the IOCOD way
By the end of all the celebrations, Team A took the win. But honestly, the real highlight was the time we had together as a team. We got to see the fun, creative, and competitive side of everyone. And, somewhere between the loud cheering, random teasing and non-stop photo sessions, we all had moments that made this Vishu extra special.
